Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, born February 20, 2003 is an American actor and singer-songwriter. Her performances as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' lead role earned her recognition in late 2010. Rodrigo made her mainstream debut by releasing "Drivers License" the first single she released. She signed with Interscope Records in 2020 and broke a number of records. It was followed by singles "Deja Vu", "Good 4 U" and "Good 4 U" prior to her debut solo studio album, Sour (2021), which was a commercial and critical acclaim and won three Grammy Awards. The Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, chronicling her creative process with Sour, followed in 2022. Rodrigo is the owner of two Billboard Hot 100 number one singles and one Billboard 200 number number-one album. She also has five multi-Platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to her other accolades, Rodrigo won the American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named Rodrigo the 2021 Entertainer of the Year while Billboard named the woman the 2022 Woman of the Year. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was conceived at Rancho Springs Medical Center Murrieta in California to Jennifer Rodrigo and Chris Rodrigo. [3][4][5][6] She lived and was raised in the nearby town of Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and German mother. She has said that her paternal great-grandfather moved from the Philippines to the United States as a teenager and her family follows Filipino customs and food. Rodrigo began singing in kindergarten. She began taking acting and singing classes at the age of six years old and started acting in the theater of her elementary school productions. Rodrigo was already playing guitar by the age of 12. [12] She grew to appreciate alternative rock music like Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Green Day.
